TLDR
- Motion is creative analytics for your own Meta account: AI tags, an ad leaderboard, reports, from $250 a month for brands spending up to $50k a month. Dovey looks outward at the market instead.
- Dovey is research on the market's ads, top performers first, with an agent, a creator search and a remix. Free to search; $29 or $99.
- They answer different questions. Motion: which of my ads work. Dovey: what works in my category, and what should I make next.
What each tool is
Motion connects to your ad account and tells you which of your creatives are working: AI tags on your ads, a leaderboard, creative analytics and reports for the team. Its Starter plan is $250 a month for brands spending up to $50,000 a month on ads; larger plans are custom. It does not research other brands' ads.
Dovey does not connect to your ad account. It researches the market: the Meta Ad Library, searched by meaning, top performers first, every creative read by a model. It answers questions over the market's ads, finds creators, and makes new ads for you from what runs.

Where Motion is better
Everything about your own results. Dovey never sees your CPA. If the job is reading your account's creative performance and reporting it to a team, Motion is the tool and Dovey is not a substitute.
Where Dovey is better
Everything before your results exist. What to test next, which angles the category runs, what a competitor changed this week, which creators are already in category ads, and a first draft of the ad. And at a tenth of the price.
Together
A brand spending real money uses both: Motion to read what happened, Dovey to decide what to make next. The loop closes when Dovey's daily creatives get tested and Motion reads the result.
FAQ
Does Dovey connect to my Meta ad account?
No. Dovey researches the public Ad Library and makes ads; it does not read your account's performance. Motion does.
Is Dovey a Motion alternative?
Not for creative analytics on your own account. For researching the market and deciding what to make next, yes.
