Terms of Use

Last updated October 23, 2026

Contents

These terms are the agreement between you and Brooklyn Social House LLC ("Dovey", "we", "us") for makedovey.com, for the Dovey connector and the Dovey plugin inside AI assistants, for the Dovey app in Slack, and for everything they offer: the search over Meta ads and the Ad Library, the research agent, the creator search, the templates, the ad creatives made from templates, from other ads or from your words, the canvas where you and Dovey's agent make and change them, and publishing the ads you approve to your own Meta ad account. They matter most in the rare case something goes wrong, so we have tried to write them in plain language rather than hide the important parts. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Who may use Dovey

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. If you use Dovey for a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind that company, and "you" means both you and that company.

Your email address is your account: you sign in with a link we email to your work address, or with Google. You confirm the address is yours.

Dovey is a business tool. It is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including anything done by people you invite and by AI agents you connect. Keep your credentials and API keys secret, and tell us promptly if you think they have been exposed.

2. The service, usage, and plans

Dovey is research over what already runs, and ad creatives made from it: a search over Meta ads by what they mean, ranked by Dovey's score, with bookmarks and collections; an agent that answers questions over those ads with the sample size; a search for TikTok and Instagram creators who already post about a category, with numbers computed from their public posts; ad creatives for your own business, made from a template, remixed from an ad or made from your words, either as designs whose words, pictures and layout you can edit, or as pictures made by an image model; a canvas where you, Dovey's agent and the AI assistants you connect make, arrange and change those ads; and publishing the ads you approve to your own Meta ad account.

Dovey's poster product, which made designs from a text message, ended on October 14, 2026. Designs made with it are still yours, as set out below.

What Dovey does for you is measured as usage, on every plan. Each plan includes an amount of usage a month, which resets on the 1st of every month at 00:00 UTC, and unused usage does not carry over. Different work uses different amounts: pictures made by an image model, live searches and the work of Dovey's own AI agent use more, while the edits you or your own AI assistant make on the canvas use little or none. The app shows how much of the week's usage you have used, as a percentage. Nothing is unlimited. When the week's usage is used, Dovey says so, and you can wait for it to reset or move to a larger plan. To keep Dovey available to everyone, every plan also limits how many requests it can make in a minute and in a day.

The Free plan needs no card. It includes limited usage, and a limited number of calls a week from the AI assistants you connect. Ads made on Free carry a makedovey.com watermark, described below. Free is one allowance per person: we recognise a person by their email address, read so that variations of one mailbox count once. We do not give the Free plan's usage to throwaway email addresses, to email domains that cannot receive mail, or to more than three new free workspaces from one network in a day. A workspace that gets no free usage can still sign in and pick a paid plan. To keep Free available to everyone, Free also has limits on how many ads one workspace can make in an hour and on how much all Free workspaces together can use in a day. When a limit is reached we say so, and it lifts on its own.

Pro is $29 a month and Max is $99 a month, and each includes more usage than the plan below it, as shown at makedovey.com/pricing. Ads made while you are on a paid plan carry no watermark. Usage has no cash value, cannot be transferred or redeemed, and ends when your plan ends. Until October 23, 2026, Dovey's paid plans were called Starter and Pro and measured use differently. A subscription that began on one of those plans may be moved to the current plans, and we will tell you before any change to what you pay takes effect.

We may change features, models, limits, and prices. If we change prices for an existing subscription, we will give you notice before the change takes effect so you can cancel first.

3. Billing, cancellation, and refunds

The Free plan asks for no card. From October 13, 2026, paid plans start without a trial: a paid plan is charged when you pick it, at the price shown at checkout, and its usage is yours at once. It then renews monthly until you cancel. This is a recurring charge. Trials started before October 13, 2026 finish as they were offered.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. You authorise us and Stripe to charge your payment method for each renewal.

You can move between Pro and Max at any time in your settings. The change takes effect at once and is prorated: the difference for the rest of the current period is added to, or taken off, your next bill, and nothing is charged at the moment you change. Moving up gives you the larger allowance straight away. Moving down sets the smaller allowance.

You can cancel at any time. Sign in to makedovey.com, open your settings, choose to manage your plan, and tell us in a few words why you are leaving. Cancellation stops future renewals. Your plan continues until the end of the period you already paid for, and until then you can change your mind. When the plan ends, your workspace moves to the Free plan, with its limited usage and its watermark, rather than closing. Your card details and your invoices are managed in Stripe's billing portal, which opens from the same place.

Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable and we do not refund partial periods or unused usage. If usage was consumed by a failure clearly on our side, contact us and we will normally restore it.

If a payment fails, we may suspend access until it is resolved.

4. The ads data

The ads you search, browse and ask about come from the Meta Ad Library, which Meta publishes so anyone can see the ads running on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Threads. We collect it through a data provider, keep our own copy of the ads and their creatives, and add what our models read from each one: the angle, the hook, the offer, the format, who appears, a transcript of the video, and a score built from how long the ad has run and how many versions it has. Every ad links back to its page in the Ad Library.

The ads belong to their advertisers. Dovey gives you the right to look at them, search them, compare them, save them to your bookmarks and use what you learn. It does not give you the right to republish an advertiser's creative, to copy its text or its picture into your own ad, or to present it as yours. The remix exists so that you do not have to: it carries the angle, the offer shape and the format into a design that uses your words and your picture. When you bookmark an ad we keep our own copy of its creative, so your bookmark still shows it after the ad stops running.

The data is as complete and as current as the Ad Library and our provider make it. Some advertisers' ads are hidden behind a login on Meta's side and appear in Dovey without a creative; some ads end before we see them; run time is Meta's start date against today. Meta publishes no spend, reach or performance figures for ordinary ads, so Dovey does not show any, and anything the agent says about what works is a reading of run time and versions, not a measurement of results. Check the source before you rely on a number.

You may not copy the index in bulk, scrape or crawl it, resell it, or use it to build a competing database. Reasonable use through the web app, the connector and the API is what the plans are for.

5. The creator data

The creator search finds people on TikTok and Instagram who already post about a category. Everything it shows comes from their public profiles and public posts, collected through a data provider: the handle, the bio, the follower count, the last posts with their views, likes and comments, and a business email or link only where the creator put it on their own profile. From those posts we compute the numbers on each card, such as median views, engagement rate and how many recent posts were paid, and our models read what the creator posts about.

We show a creator's public contact details only to signed in accounts on a paid plan or a paid plan's trial, and we never message anyone on your behalf. If you contact a creator, you do it from your own account, under the platform's rules and the law where you and they are, including rules on unsolicited commercial messages. Do not use Dovey to harass, spam or scrape creators, and do not resell or export the creator data.

Creators own their content. Dovey shows their public posts as the platform shows them, with a link to the original, so that a buyer can judge the work. A creator who does not want to appear in Dovey can write to us and we will remove them.

6. Your content, and the rights you give us

"Your Content" means everything you put into Dovey: the messages you send Dovey in Slack and the files attached to them, the searches and questions you ask, your instructions, the conversations you have with Dovey's agent, product photos, logos, brand details, the brand style and the numbers and claims you confirm, your website address, your bookmarks, collections and lists, your canvases and workflows, the comments you leave on them, and references you upload. You keep ownership of Your Content.

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty free licence to host, store, copy, transmit, display, and process Your Content, and to make derivative works of it, strictly to operate and improve the service for you. That licence ends when you delete the content or close your account, except for backups and logs that age out on the schedule in our Privacy Policy.

You promise that you have the right to use Your Content for the purpose you are using it, and that our processing of it will not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights. Uploading someone else's advertisement as a style reference is expressly permitted, and the section below on using other companies' ads sets out where the line is. What is not permitted is passing off someone else's product photography, logo, or artwork as your own in a finished ad, and under the indemnity below that liability is yours.

7. Usage signals and model evaluation

As you use Dovey, we record how generations go: which model produced which output, which creatives you approved, skipped, changed, edited, or exported, and what each run did, along with each step's speed and cost. We also record what each paid call made for your workspace cost us, which is how your plan's usage is measured. We use these signals to make Dovey better, for example by learning which model does the best job for a given kind of task.

This includes what you ask for and the changes you ask for afterwards. A request to make something greener or move a date is the clearest signal we get about whether a design was right, and we use it to improve how designs are made. We do not use your messages to advertise to you.

We may also use these signals in anonymized, aggregated form for model evaluation, including in reports or datasets we share or sell. Anonymized and aggregated means statistics and patterns, never your raw inputs, your product photos, your brand details, or anything that identifies you or your business. An individual output is only ever included as an example with your explicit opt-in.

8. Using other companies' ads as style references

You may upload advertisements you did not create and use them as style references. This is a normal and intended use of Dovey. Studying what already works in your market is the point of the product, and the qualities a reference actually teaches the system are style, composition, lighting, colour, texture, and mood.

Those qualities are not owned by anyone. Copyright protects a specific image, not the idea of a can lit from above against a pink sky, and not a look or an aesthetic. Trademark protects a brand's marks, not the fact that its ads feel a certain way.

References you upload stay in your workspace. They are never added to our public library and we do not show them to other customers, unless you put one in a workflow and share that workflow by link.

The line is what comes out, not what goes in. Do not publish an ad that reproduces another company's actual photography or artwork, that carries their logo, name, or packaging, that copies their trade dress closely enough to confuse a shopper, or that suggests they endorse or are connected to you. Comparative advertising that names a competitor is legal in many places and heavily regulated in others, so if you are making that kind of ad, check the rules where it will run.

You are responsible for the ads you publish. We give you the tool and this guidance; the judgement about any particular ad is yours.

9. Generated images, and what we do not promise about them

As between you and us, you own the designs Dovey generates for you, and you may use them commercially. Ads and other designs are yours to print, post, or run as advertising, on every plan including Free. We claim no ownership of them.

Ads made on the Free plan carry a makedovey.com watermark repeated across the picture. They are still yours to use, commercially too, but you may not remove, crop out, cover, or otherwise hide the mark. The mark becomes part of the picture when it is made, so moving to a paid plan does not take it off ads you already made. Ads made while you are on a paid plan carry no mark.

One exception is worth stating plainly. In the poster product, which ended on October 14, 2026, when the system drew an illustration for a design, for example a coffee cup or a taco, it kept that drawing so it could be reused and recoloured in later designs, including designs for other customers. Illustrations are generic artwork with no text and nothing identifying in them, and this does not apply to your photos, your logo, your words, or the finished design. If you would rather an illustration made for you was not reused, tell us and we will remove it.

Three honest limits come with that. First, AI generated material may not be protected by copyright in some countries, including the United States, so you may not be able to stop others from copying it. Second, generation is not deterministic and other customers may receive visually similar results, so we cannot promise your output is unique. Third, we cannot guarantee that output does not resemble existing work, so you should review anything before you publish it.

Dovey uses third party AI models to produce images and analysis. Your use of the output is also subject to those providers' terms, which is one reason we name them in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for making sure your ads comply with the law and with the rules of wherever you run them, including advertising standards, disclosure obligations, and platform policies. Some platforms require you to disclose that creative was made with AI. That disclosure is your decision and your responsibility.

10. Sharing a canvas or workflow

Your canvases and workflows are private to your workspace until you share one. Sharing makes a link. Anyone who has the link can see the workflow and its latest results without signing in: its title, your first name, your brand's name, website and logo, the pictures in it including product photos, the ads its research found, the brief, and the ads it made with their copy. The page is kept out of search engines and we do not list shared workflows anywhere, but anyone you give the link to can pass it on.

You can turn sharing off at any time, and the link stops working at once.

Whoever shares a workflow is responsible for what its link shows, including the brand, product photos, ads, and copy in it, and for having the right to show them.

Anyone with the link can choose Use this workflow, which copies its structure onto their own brand: the steps, the research search, and the brief's instructions. It does not copy your product photos or the ads you made, since their copy starts with their own product and makes its own ads. Copies made this way belong to the workspaces that made them and stay after you turn the link off.

11. No promise about results

Dovey helps you make designs. It does not promise that any design will bring people in, perform as an advertisement, convert, or be approved by an advertising platform. Anything we publish about what tends to work is observation, not a prediction about your results.

Decisions about what to run, where, and with how much budget are yours, and the money you spend on advertising is spent at your own risk.

12. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Dovey to:

  • create anything unlawful, defamatory, hateful, harassing, or sexually explicit
  • impersonate a real person or organisation, or make an advertisement look like it comes from a brand you do not represent
  • make false or misleading claims about a product, or content designed to deceive people
  • publish an ad that reproduces another company's photography, artwork, logo, or packaging, or that imitates their trade dress closely enough to confuse people about who is selling
  • generate images of an identifiable person without their permission
  • reverse engineer the service, resell access, or use it to train a competing model
  • copy the ads index or the creator data in bulk, or resell either
  • contact creators found through Dovey in ways the platform or the law does not allow, or use the data to harass anyone
  • remove, crop out, cover, or hide the makedovey.com mark on ads made on the Free plan
  • scrape, overload, probe, or interfere with the service or its security

We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach this section. Where the breach is serious or repeated, we may do so without notice.

13. API keys and connected AI agents

Dovey can be operated by AI assistants through our API, our MCP connector and the Dovey plugin, in Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and any other client that speaks MCP. Connecting one through Dovey's sign-in can also create your Dovey account. When you connect one, you authorise it to act on your behalf inside your workspace: setting up your brand, searching ads, asking questions, finding and saving creators, bookmarking, making and changing creatives and the other items on your canvases, deleting items from a canvas when you ask, building, running, and sharing canvases and workflows, which uses your plan's usage, and preparing ads for you to publish to Meta.

Connected agents cannot touch billing: no agent can start a checkout, change or cancel a plan, or create API keys. No agent can publish an ad to Meta, save one there as a draft, or pause one by itself either. It can only prepare a publish for a person to confirm, as the section on your Meta ad account sets out. Actions an agent takes are still your actions under these terms, so connect only tools you trust. Every connection is listed in your settings and you can revoke any of them at any time, which takes effect immediately.

14. Slack

You can add Dovey to your Slack workspace. Once added, Dovey answers messages that mention it, direct messages to it, and replies in its own threads, saves files attached to those messages to your workspace in Dovey, and posts its answers and creatives there. Anyone in your Slack workspace who can message Dovey uses your plan's usage, so add it where you trust the people. You can disconnect it at any time from Dovey, which deletes our access to your Slack workspace.

15. Your Meta ad account and publishing

You can connect your Meta ad account to Dovey, through Meta's own login or by giving Dovey an access token. You choose the ad account, Page, Instagram account and pixel Dovey uses. Once connected, Dovey reads your ads and how they perform, such as spend, impressions, clicks, and results for each ad, so it can tell you how they are doing and shape what it suggests.

When you connect, you authorise Dovey to create campaigns, ad sets and ads in the ad accounts you connect, as drafts or live, and to publish or pause them. Dovey does this only when you, or someone in your workspace, confirm it: by pressing Publish, Draft or Pause in Dovey or in Slack, or Publish on the confirmation card a connected AI assistant shows you. Each confirmation covers the exact ads and settings it shows, can be used once, and expires after 15 minutes. A press by anyone in your workspace, including someone in your Slack workspace, counts as yours.

The objective, daily budget, audience and placements Dovey fills in, such as about $20 a day for a new ad set, are suggestions. You can change them before you confirm, and what you confirm is your decision. Publish creates the ads live, and they start spending at once, up to the daily budget the confirmation shows. Draft creates them paused in your ad account and spends nothing until you press Publish on them.

Publishing from Slack or from an assistant's card takes one tap on a confirmation that shows the ads, the account and the daily budget. That tap is your confirmation whatever the budget, so check it before you press. Ad sets that already exist keep the budgets they have.

Ad spend is between you and Meta. Meta bills it to the payment method on your own ad account, under your agreement with Meta. Dovey does not handle, pay or reimburse ad spend, and never changes your billing or payment settings in Meta. Your Dovey plan pays for Dovey, not for your ads.

You are responsible for the ads you publish through Dovey: what they say and show, their budgets, their targeting, the landing pages they link to, and their compliance with Meta's Advertising Standards, Meta's other terms and the law wherever they run. Meta reviews ads and may reject, limit or remove any of them. Dovey shows you Meta's decision when it gets it, but cannot change it.

The results Dovey shows, such as spend, impressions, clicks and cost per result, come from Meta. Dovey reads them about once an hour, so they can lag behind Ads Manager or differ from it. Meta's own reporting is the record.

Dovey is not liable for how your ads perform or for spend that you or someone in your workspace approved. The sections on results, disclaimers and the limitation of liability apply to publishing as they do to the rest of Dovey.

You can disconnect at any time, in your settings in Dovey or by removing Dovey from your business integrations in Meta. Either way Dovey deletes its access token and the connection details that came with it, and can no longer read the account or create anything in it. The Meta ids and results kept with ads Dovey published stay in your workspace until you ask for them to be deleted, as our Privacy Policy explains. Ads already in your ad account stay there and keep running until you pause or delete them in Meta Ads Manager, so pause them first if you want them to stop. Your ad account remains subject to Meta's own terms.

16. Our intellectual property

The service itself, including our software, models, prompts, interface, the tags and scores we add to the ads, the numbers we compute about creators, the template and style reference library, and the Dovey name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors. These terms give you permission to use the service, and nothing more.

The Dovey plugin for AI assistants is published at github.com/makedovey/plugin under the MIT License. That licence covers the plugin's own files, not the service they connect to.

Style references in our library are provided so the system can learn visual qualities such as lighting, composition, and mood. They are not licensed to you as images to republish, and nothing in the service grants you rights in any third party brand that happens to appear in a reference. Learning a look from a reference is fine; republishing the reference itself is not.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them freely and without owing you anything.

17. Third party services

Dovey depends on services we do not control, including AI model providers, the data provider behind the ads and creator data, payment processing, hosting, email delivery, Slack, and Meta. If one of them fails, changes, or restricts what we can offer, that may affect the service, and we are not liable for their acts or omissions.

18. Service availability

We aim to keep Dovey running but we do not promise uninterrupted or error free service. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your work.

19. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or trade usage.

Some countries do not allow these exclusions. Nothing here removes rights you have that cannot legally be removed, including consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, statutory rights under UK and EU consumer law, and equivalent protections elsewhere.

20. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost advertising spend, lost data, or loss of goodwill, even if warned such damages were possible.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred United States dollars.

These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, including death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation. Where you deal with us as a consumer, your non-excludable statutory rights are unaffected.

21. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from claims, damages, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from Your Content, your use of the service, your advertising, your breach of these terms, or your violation of anyone's rights or of any law.

22. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Dovey at any time and cancel from your settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, if your payments fail, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably believe continuing would create legal risk or harm other users.

When an account ends, your right to use the service ends. We keep and delete data as described in our Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive termination do survive, including content licences already granted, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and dispute resolution.

23. Disputes

Please contact us first at daryl@makedovey.com. Most problems are faster to fix directly than through any formal process, and we would rather fix them.

If you are in the United States and we cannot resolve a dispute informally within sixty days, you and we agree to resolve it by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, seated in New York, New York. You and we each waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class or representative action. Either party may still bring an individual claim in small claims court, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property.

This arbitration agreement does not apply where it is unenforceable. If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, Australia, or Canada, you keep the right to bring proceedings in your local courts and to rely on the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.

24. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York and, where applicable, the federal law of the United States, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Subject to the arbitration section above, the courts of New York County, New York have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live.

25. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will give reasonable notice by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Dovey after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, cancel your subscription.

26. General

These terms, with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us about the service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, on notice to you.

27. Contact

Brooklyn Social House LLC, Brooklyn, New York, United States. Questions about these terms go to daryl@makedovey.com.

If anything here is unclear, ask us. We would rather explain a term than argue about it later.
